Poteau, Okla. – Kiamichi Tech’s Workforce and Economic Development Center is meeting training needs for local law enforcement through its CLEET accredited Police Officer Training Academy. Central National Bank of Poteau and First National Bank of Heavener and Poteau have joined together to provide a full $5,000 tuition scholarship to a local law enforcement officer in training.

The Kiamichi Tech team is grateful for the continued generosity of Central National Bank as they have supported student scholarships in both academies and is excited to receive new support for the program from First National Bank.

“We understand the importance of public safety and are committed to providing high-quality training for this essential workforce in the Kiamichi Tech District,” said Shelley Free, Kiamichi Tech Superintendent. “The support shown by Central National Bank and First National Bank helps us meet that need and is greatly appreciated.”

Central National Bank is pleased to continue its support of education, and law enforcement training in the Poteau region, said Mike Hall, Central National Bank President and CEO. “We are glad to be able to contribute to this Police Academy scholarship program,” he continued, “CNB has always appreciated our local law enforcement and the service they provide to our communities.”

The Academy is a 16-week program covering all facets of law enforcement education from law enforcement driver training and firearms safety to defensive tactics and criminal investigations.
