Welcome to my weekly commissioner’s corner. Due to the Veterans Day Federal holiday tomorrow, the weekly commissioners meeting will be Tuesday at 9:00 A.M. at the courthouse.
We have a new President elected this week–congratulations to President Elect-Donald Trump. Even if you don’t like him this is what this country needs at the moment to get this country back on track. No one is perfect, but I feel like this is what we as a people need to get us back track.
If you missed breakfast at the LeFlore County Museum before the Veterans Parade Saturday in Downtown Poteau, you missed out. Thanks to Randy Bridgman and Jeff Smith for cooking up a great breakfast. David Deaton and his crew always have the museum looking so great. Drop by and see them sometime. The address is 303 Dewey Avenue. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11-3.
We will be moving to Calhoun Road as soon as the weather permits–hopefully, that will be this week. Brush hog crews are officially finished for the year. Patch crew have been out around Leflore taking care of roads.
We received lots of needed rain this past week. With that being said, our blade crews are now working to try and get those roads back up and in good shape again. Be patient. We will get there. If we aren’t there in the next week or so please let us know. We appreciate the rain but with that comes work as well.
Crews have started painting culverts to help those been seen year round.
Reminder one end of Gassaway Loop is closed while the highway department replaces the bridge on State Highway 83. It looks to be opening here in the next few weeks.
If you see roads that need a patch crew, please call and let us know. We miss areas and can get out and fix areas if you will let us know.
