According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a fatality collision occurred on June 3, 2022, at approximately 12:50 AM on US Highway 270, approximately two and one-half miles southeast of Wister, OK, in LeFlore County.
The OHP report shows that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jake W. Morrison, age 19, of Heavener was traveling westbound on US Highway 270, departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and departed the roadway to the left, overturning an unknown number of times before coming to rest in an upright position.
Morrison was pinned in the vehicle and later freed by Wister Fire Department using the HURST too. He was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Fort Smith, AR, with head injuries.
Morrison’s passenger, Ayden G. Brown, age 18, of Wister was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Seatbelts were not in use. The front airbag deployed. The weather was foggy.
Investigated by Trooper Wes Odom of the LeFlore County detachment, of Troop D and assisted by LeFlore County EMS and Wister Fire Department.
