WILBURTON, Oklahoma – Eastern Oklahoma State College is expanding its academic offerings with the addition of two new degree options and an updated technology program designed to better prepare students for high-demand careers. Beginning in Fall 2026, students can pursue new options in Pre-Engineering and Sports Business, while the college’s Computer Forensics program will transition to Cybersecurity with curriculum enhancements that reflect today’s rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The new offerings are part of Eastern’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable, career-focused educational opportunities that align with workforce needs in Oklahoma and beyond.

“The addition of these programs demonstrates Eastern’s commitment to preparing students for the careers of tomorrow while providing an affordable pathway to higher education,” said Dr. Randy Harp, president of EOSC. “These programs respond directly to workforce needs and ensure our students have the knowledge and skills to succeed in rapidly changing industries.”

The new Sports Business option was developed in response to growing demand for professionals with expertise in the business side of athletics, recreation, hospitality and tourism. Workforce projections indicate employment in the field is expected to grow by more than six percent over the next decade, with median annual salaries exceeding $100,000. The program includes a new Sports Marketing course that will prepare students to apply marketing principles within the sports and entertainment industries.

Eastern’s Pre-Engineering option will provide students in southeast Oklahoma with an affordable opportunity to begin their engineering education close to home before transferring to a four-year university. Engineering careers are projected to continue growing over the next decade, and the curriculum has been reviewed by university partners to help ensure students are well-prepared for continued study after completing their associate degree.

The college is also updating its Computer Forensics program by renaming it Cybersecurity, a change that better reflects current industry terminology and the expanded scope of the program. In addition to the name change, students will have the opportunity to explore the growing role of artificial intelligence through new elective coursework, while a revised introductory cybersecurity course will emphasize cyber defense, threat prevention and digital security alongside forensic analysis.

All three programs will be available beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.

Those interested in learning more about these programs or enrolling for Fall 2026 are encouraged to contact Eastern’s Enrollment Center or visit eosc.edu for additional information.
