Poteau Voters took to the polls on Tuesday and voted for their candidate for Mayor, City Council Street Commissioner and Poteau School Board.
For Mayor voters decided to keep the current Mayor Scotty White with 599 votes to Jarrod Ridenour 482 votes.
I’m honored to have been a candidate for mayor of Poteau. I’m so appreciative of the outpouring of support throughout this campaign. I wish Mayor White the absolute best in his efforts in leading our city the next four years. I look forward to the opportunity to serve in public office if, and when that opportunity is presented. Until then, I’ll continue to make a positive difference when and where I’m able, said Jarrod Ridenour.

For City Council the voters re-elected Connie Shockley to serve. Shockley received 757 (70.55%) votes while Karen Mills received 316 (29.45%)

Win or lose I still have a job to do whether I’m a citizen or a council member I will always try to do what’s right for Poteau, said Karen Mills.
In the race for Street Commissioner, incumbent Ronnie Burgess took home the win with 468 (43.62%) with Gary Gray receiving 337 (31.41%) votes, Eric Blaylock received 148 (13.79%) votes and Ashton Cripps getting 120 (11.18%) votes.
