According to the report filed with Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a personal injury collision occurred July 29, 2020, at approximately 12:14 PM on US 59 at Ridge Road approximately 1 mile south of Poteau in LeFlore county.
A 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Billy Smith of Poteau, failed to yield from a stop sign at US 59 and was hit by a 2010 Chrevrolet pickup driven by Todd Adkins of Heavener.
Smith’s condition was listed as “DUI (marijuana)”. Adkins’s condition was listed as “apparently normal.”
Smith was transported by Leflore County EMS to St Francis Hospital in Tulsa in serious condition with head injuries. Adkins was not injured.
