This has got to be the purtiest season. The air is crisp. The leaves have painted the hills and hollows bright yellow, red, orange and a smidgeon of 40 shades of brown. From Cavanal to Sugarloaf to the Ouachitas, take a short hike or drive and take it all in. It is the natural cycle of life. Plus there’s a lot more to enjoy. It’s family friendly and affordable. Live Music this week- The Talihina Fall Foliage Festival is Sat. 4th. It goes from 9am thru 3pm with all kinds of activities for the whole family. Live Music from 1-3pm with “Oklahoma Moon” on stage. Purty drive thru some awesome scenery. Start early in the morn and make the drive on the mt. tops of the Ouachitas- Skyline Drive.
“Oklahoma 59 South” starts off at El Celaya restaurant on Tuesday 2nd in Heavener. Music 5-8pm. And kick off Sat. 4th at El Celaya/Sallisaw. Good eats in both towns and even better music. Again, the music is from 5-8pm. See ya at El Celaya!
“Country Express” will play for the dancers on Friday 3rd. at Ft. Smith Senior Activity Center on Cavanaugh Rd. Great place to have fun and an awesome band. Music starts at 7pm.
“Oklahoma Moon” has a very busy weekend. Friday 3rd, they play at Neumeier’s Rib Room at 6pm. And they eat their share of the good groceries at this popular eatery. After a good nite sleep, It’s off to Talihina and the Fall Foliage Festival from 1-3pm. Back to La Huertas/Poteau for a show for the diners. Music from 6-9pm. This band is one of my Top 3 in our area.
“Rhythm Coalition” with their funkadelic, jazzy, R&B and completely original sound, gets the party started at Ava’s in Vienna Hills. Individually, each musician’s exceptionally talented. But their hard work and practice insist that ya pay attention and enjoy their music. The band has caused the crowd to stop watching the Razorbacks and start to dance. Don’t miss a chance to hear these hepcatz.
“Shady Oak Tribadours” will be at Ava’s/ Vienna Hills on Friday 3rd at 8 pm. Then “We don’t smoke Marijuana in Muskogee”. Turns to enjoy their music while sipping a fine craft brew at the Muskogee Brewing Brewery. Take a designated driver and enjoy their show. Music starts at 8pm.
