According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Fatality collision occurred on July 22, 2023 at approximately 10:40 pm on OK Highway 9, just east of Twilight rd., approximately 9 miles west of Spiro, OK in LeFlore County.
According to the report, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by (Juvenile-name withheld) male, age 17, from Poteau was eastbound on Highway 9 and went left of center and struck a 2014 Nissan Versa, driven by Hailey Johnson female, 20 years, from Keota, OK.
The juvenile was Flown to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with leg injuries.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by LeFlore County EMS, transported to Mallory-Martin Funeral Home out of Spiro, OK.
Cause of Collision – Under investigation
Investigated by OHP, the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, and Spiro Fire Department.
