Looking at Monday, the impacts have gone down. Let me break down what happened and why the risk was so high.
With Arctic air and winter in general, it is often difficult to determine what will occur, such as snow. Therefore we look for consistency and compare to other models. In this case, there was consistency and the models showed a ice storm through Monday. However now and this is the relief part, the ice should be fully melted off by Tuesday, if not by Monday night. Temperatures are expected to be just above freezing overnight and during the later afternoon hours. BUT, the morning commute will probably be disrupted by freezing rain, simply causing delays.
I do suggest that bread and milk for a short period of time just to be safe, and still have your vehicle packed if you must travel as a precaution.
Minor to moderate impacts in the morning to early afternoon hours. Midnight through 9am Monday morning. Overnight 19°F and Sunday 35°. Warmer weather is in the forecast for the end of January into February as well.
