Roy Gordon, Gordon Youth Foundation honored LaDell Phillips for her outstanding dedication and inspiration to LeFlore County Youth and The Boys and Girls Club.
Phillips was presented the award before The Dr. John Montgomery Scholarship Banquet on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
Karen Wages, CEO of the Poteau Chamber of Commerce was also presented an award from the Gordon Youth Foundation.
Gordon’s Youth Foundation, Inc. is a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by Roy Gordon, Sr. and his son’s, Tracy and Roy, Jr. The foundation’s mission is to assist economically disadvantaged youth from pre-school through college serving Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. Roy Gordon, Sr. is a retired employee of Whirlpool Corporation of 37 years and a Sgt. First Class veteran of the U.S. Army, active and reserve, for 20 years. Based on the belief that every young person deserves a chance to be successful regardless of their circumstances, he founded Gordon’s Youth Foundation in June 2007 to assist economically disadvantaged youth from pre- school through college.
