The upcoming holidays are always a great time to play Live Music. Bigger crowds are out celebrating. Most bring family with them and that makes it special. AND bands, if ya want local folks and visitors to be able to find you, make sure that I have your information. A Week ahead. New Years Eve is a big nite, always has been. First, It is the year-end celebration that is started every hour around the world. Second, Everybody is celebrating my Birthday. Been a party for 72 years that I can remember. I’m hoping to celebrate this year in Spiro at the Eagles with my friends “The Stagemasters”. Here’s hoping that you have a safe and glorious NYE celebration. But this is the middle of the month of Dec. and here’s what I know to be happening in our area.

LIVE MUSIC this WEEK- The Ft.Smith Senior Activity Center will have “The Lawman Band” on Friday 13th(Oh my!). The dance starts at 7pm and the Country music will keep the big dance floor full, you can bet.

Dawn’s Diner/Red Oak has great grub and Awesome Music with “Earl Hearon and the Sound of Country”, who make the music on Friday 13th. Earl always plays and sings your favorite songs by Haggard, Straight and Waylon and Willie. All pure Country. Music starts at 6pm. Go gitchu a lil’.

“The Libby Starkes Band” will play to the large turn-out at the Muldrow City Limits on Sat. 14th. Averaging ‘bout 100 dancin’ Country Fans a nite, it’s prob the most popular dance hall going at the moment and Libby is a favorite here. Watch their videos and see how much fun just goes on. Music at 7pm. Dec 13th and evening of Music with Sierra Bravo from 7 to ?? Good music to dance or just enjoy. Concession will be open and it’s

a good alcohol free entertainment evening. Money raised will go to the funding of the Honor Guard uniforms, coats and other uniforms items needed for this Winters parades and graveside services. Donations at the door. All welcome to attend this lively fun pair of entertainers. This is all at the Wilburton VFW Post 3649. Donate to this worthy cause.

Friday Dec. 13th, “59 South” will be at The Ranch/Talimichi Restaurant on the banks of the beautiful Kiamichi River. Awesome food and dinner music will be special. Take your sweetheart and fall in love again. Music kicks off at 6pm.

“The Stagemasters” are booked at the Mighty Crab/Ft. Smith on Sat. 14th. Their style of entertainment will feature some originals, some Country and a lil’ bit of Classic Rock. Catch their show from 6-9pm.

The Ft. Smith Senior Activity Center will have a dance on Friday 13th. They’re not superstitious, so You can dance and listen to “The Lawman Band”. Dance will start at 7pm. It’s on Cavanaugh rd. Ft Smith.

It’s time for Jazz at the Museum at the beautiful Lowrey Hotel and Museum in Downtown Poteau on Dewey Ave. on Tuesday 17th. This time of year is special because the whole decor of the Lowrey is Christmas. Over 20 decorated Christmas trees for the chance to be picked by popular vote to be the Best decorated. AND the music will be Jazz influenced Christmas carols as a present from “The Al Grzech Trio ft. Nikki Waters”. It’s a free show, some snacks and drinks provided and it’s a great opportunity to take pics that will become Christmas memories. The concert starts at 6:30pm. Come celebrate the Holidays with us.

“The MidWestern Playboys” Will be at Ava’s/Fianna Hills on Sat. 14th at 8 pm. Mac Moad and the band suffered a loss recently with the passing of Brother/singer Stephen Moad. Our prayers go out to the Moad family. There will be a celebration of his life planned Friday

Noon and Sat. Noon at 112368 S. 4770 Road, Muldrow Oklahoma, 74948. All stories, memories and tall tales will be shared of Stephen’s short life. There will be a benefit with music held at a later date. More info here.
