Last week, somewhere between the first word and bout half way thru the article I started revisiting an old familiar feeling from 14 years past. That “Foggy-headed, slightly dizzy, hard to focus but just to darn stubborn to lay down feeling” from excessive imbibing of the “spirits” and anything else on the table. I struggled with facts, figures, times and dates, much more than normal. I sent an email but forgot to include the article. As it turned out, it was only a recurring foot problem caused by a High mileage life-style and low maintenance care. A surprisingly smooth Ambulance ride, 5 days in the “horsepital”, great care from Dr’s and Nurses and Aids, I narrowly escaped and dodged another bullet. I persevered, kept my eye on the prize and Faith carried the day. It’s good to be back!

Support local bands. Look at how all the support has helped “Hillbilly Vegas”. They started out as a garage band of sorts and developed into a highly recognized, touring the World band from Poteau, Okla. They are gearing up to head back to England for 15 dates. 8 days with Luke Morley and 7 dates as Headliner. Wishing them safe travels and another chance to win many more fans. Last year had some highs and lows for the band so here’s hoping for their best year ever.
Live Music this week- “Live Wire” has a gig on Sat. 20th at Hero’s/Garrison Ave. Once again, a chance to enjoy the singing of Felisha McKenzie. And a band of seasoned musicians, polished and talented, that cover several genres of tunes. Robert Staton/guitar, Wayne Campbell/Drums amd Mark Varnadore/Bass with Felisha out front are guaranteed to entertain. Starts at 8 pm. Catch their show.
“The Stagemasters”are my Mom’s favorite band and will be at her regular Sat. dance hall, Muldrow City Limits. Awesome Classic Country and Rock with an original or two in the mix. Let’s see, I told ya where. The time is 7 pm and Date is Sat. 20th.
Dawn’s Diner/Red Oak will have my favorite group of misfits, “The Shady Oak Tribadours” playing for the Friday 19th dance. Alway a good time! And Sat.20th, it will be the music of “Dustin Knight”. Two nites of awesome music and good food. Dance starts at 7-10pm.
“The Shady Oak Tribadours” will be at Chuck’s Smoking Goat Roadhouse just a few miles East of Blackgum,Okla. The Smokin’ Goat has it all. Pool, Sports on 5 tv’s, cold brewskees and on Sat. 20th, some of the craziest, soulful Coastal and Western music around. Music from 8-11pm.
It’s great to have “Oklahoma Moon” back on stage. The band fills a niche of Classic Country that includes two very fine lead pickers, three part Harmony and sometimes their jokes are kinda funny. Laugh anyway. Hee Haw meets the Eagles. You will love their show. On Friday 19th, They will be at the Cherokee Casino/Sallisaw, starting at 7pm. On Sat 20th, the guys play at Red’s Place in Alma. music starts at 7 pm.
Well, that ain’t all I got to say but it seems a good place to stop. Thru faith and the Grace and Mercy of a Loving God, I was able to complete another article about the thing I love almost better than anything- Live Music. Support it all ya can.
