I, Jim Holstead, am proud to announce my candidacy for re-election to Ward 2, Seat 1 on the Poteau City Council. With a strong record of leadership and community-focused initiatives, I am committed to fostering economic growth, improving city infrastructure, and ensuring a high quality of life for all Poteau residents.
It has been an honor to serve the residents of Ward 2, and I am excited to continue this journey. Together, we have achieved meaningful progress, and with your prayer, support, and vote, we can accomplish even more.
Over my tenure, I have championed efforts to attract new businesses, create local jobs, and strengthen the city’s economic foundation. I believe that prioritizing economic development is key to maintaining a competitive advantage and sustaining Poteau’s growth.
Our city departments work tirelessly to keep Poteau running smoothly. I commend the dedication of the street department, water department, sewer department, Fire and Police, and city staff. Our cemetery workers do an outstanding job helping people in their time of need. Their commitment is essential to Poteau’s well-being, and I will continue to support them in every way possible.
My leadership is also rooted in fiscal responsibility, ensuring that city resources are managed wisely while funding critical projects without unnecessary tax increases. If re-elected, I plan to focus on public safety, infrastructure, and city services, with a special emphasis on supporting families and the elderly to enhance the quality of life.
We’ve made great strides, but there is still more work to be done. I remain committed to making Poteau a stronger, safer, and more vibrant place for generations to come. Together, we can continue moving forward.
