According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a Keota man died from a ATV 4×4 accident that occurred on June 26, 2019 at approximately 7:04pm on Rhino Road, .4 miles south of 160th Street, approximately three miles west and two miles east of Spiro, in LeFlore County.
According to the OHP a 2014 Honda 4×4 ATV driven by Joshua Mentzer 39, of Keota was northbound on Rhino Road when Mentzer was going to fast over Cache Creek Bridge and lost control.
The ATV departed the roadway to the right and struck a tree.
Mentzer expired in the ambulance from multiple injuries.
The accident is still under investigation with the OHP.
