Poteau, Okla. – Kiamichi Tech’s Foundation recently awarded fifty-six scholarships. These scholarships will cover students’ certification and testing costs related to their respective programs. The recipients are:

The Kiamichi Technology Center Foundation was founded by Arch & Reidy Gothard of Poteau in 1994. Since then numerous public and private donations have been added to the foundation. This past year contributions to the foundation were received from Connie Shockley, Poteau Kiwanis Club, McBee Law Firm, P & K Equipment Inc., Poteau Chamber of Commerce, Central National Bank, Kendra Yandell, D.D.S., Mid-South Steam Boiler, The Community State Bank, Jenson Enterprises, and the Jeff Shockley Memorial Scholarship. Kiamichi Technology Centers has played an integral role in southeastern Oklahoma communities since 1968, serving ten full and three partial counties. Kiamichi Tech is one of 29 districts in the Oklahoma CareerTech system with more than 30 career programs. Kiamichi Tech also offers a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses as well as certifications in many diverse career fields. Kiamichi Tech has over 20,000 full time and short-term enrollments each year and serves area companies through our Workforce and Economic Development Centers that works with over 400 businesses annually.
