On June 30, 2021, Lundy Kiger, while looking at the outside of a house 9 miles east of Poteau was stung by some type of wasp or hornet on the left side of his face.
Immediately, and for the first time in his life, Kiger went into anaphylactic shock and within seconds his blood vessels were restricted, and this begin shutting off blood flow to his heart. With his heartbeat out of control, for the first time in his life, Kiger passed out.
Fortunately, his wife Samantha, a former paramedic was with him and called the LeFlore County 911. When EMS arrived, they couldn’t find a blood pressure reading on Kiger.
Paramedics were finally able to get a weak pulse rate, Samantha said, and paramedics then gave Kiger a shot of adrenaline. Kiger was then stabilized for transport to the hospital.
But before the ambulance arrived, Kiger said he opened his eyes for about one minute and could hear his wife on the phone giving final directions to the 911 operator. But with his eyes open, Kiger said he knew without a doubt that he was dying and there was nothing he could do, and he couldn’t move or speak.
Kiger said when he closed his eyes, he found himself in another place and he knew he was leaving this life and he was with the Spirit of God. Then, when paramedics were able to revive him, Kiger said he opened his eyes and the next thing he knew, Paramedics were loading him into the ambulance.
Kiger will now begin telling the entire story of this life event beginning on Monday, January 3, 2022, and each Monday morning at 7:30 am for the next 12-weeks on Poteau Radio Station KPRV 92.5 FM and 1280 AM.
Kiger said because of what happened and how his life was saved, he’s developed a 12-week series called, Living To Tell About It, As It Happened.
The goal, Kiger said, is for people to hear the story of how he feels that God spared his life. Kiger said he’s not a Pastor or preacher but tells the story as an Encouragement to others who may be seeking the peace of God in their lives.
