The Oklahoma Farm Bureau held the annual LeFlore County Legislative Breakfast at the Donald W Reynolds Center on Friday, Jan 13.
Representative Eddy Dempsey and Rick West were in attendance as well as State Senator George Burns.
The Legislative breakfast is sponsored each year by the LeFlore County Farm Bureau.
Breakfast was provided by the Lumberjack Café. Poteau FFA students presented the colors.
Also in attendance were Laramie Cocharn, representing US Congressman, James Lankford and Josh Hilderbrand representing Josh Brecheen
Each of the Legislators took to the stage and introduced themselves and then took questions from the audience.

Eddy Dempsey, from Valliant and serves LeFlore and McCurtain Counties. His plans are to bring more money for rural highways. He serves Wildlife, A&B Natural Resources, Tourism and Transportation committees.
Dempsey serves both LeFlore and McCurtain and had served on the Valliant School Board for five years.
He and his wife, Diane, have been married for over 25 years and have two sons. His family owns a small farm in Valliant.

Rick West serves LeFlore County, is from Heavener.
He serves on the Rural Development, Agriculture, A&B Public Safety and County and Municipal Govt committees. He is pushing for term limits on the speaker of the house and giving the power back to the people.

Senator George Burns
Is looking forward to the busy session and that has several bills he has written that hope he get them passes. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Natural Resources Committee.
Senator George Burns grew up in the beautiful southeast corner of Oklahoma in the Pollard community, near Haworth, where he and his wife, Patty, have also lived and raised their family. Burns was honored to be elected to the state Senate in 2020 to represent District 5, encompassing communities in Atoka, Choctaw, LeFlore, McCurtain, and Pushmataha Counties.
As a longtime member of Lukfata Baptist Church, proud father of four children and eight grandchildren, rural community born and raised, and the dedicated husband of a career educator and reading specialist, Burns values some of the most important elements of our Oklahoma way of life – faith, family, freedom, and education. His heartfelt desire is to represent District 5 with the same regard for high standards, achievement, and accountability that he approaches his vocation and life.
