According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Poteau man was killed in boating accident that occurred on July 7, 2019 at approximately 7:40pm on Lake Eufaula near Sunset Shores and Blue Creek in Pittsburg County.
According to the report, William Trotter, 64, of Poteau was driving a 2008 Kawasaki PWC northbound along the shoreline at Sunset Shores and struck a tree.
Trotter was ejected from the jet ski.
He was found floating face down and brought to the shore by witnesses.
The accident is still under investigation by the OHP.
