LeFlore County Personal Injury Collision Featured

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a personal injury collision occurred July 16, 2020, at approximately 6:11 AM on SH9, approximately 7 miles west of Spiro, OK in Leflore county.

A 1998 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Male Juvenile (Name Withheld), from Spiro was eastbound when it departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected crossing the center line, departed the roadway to the left and overturned 1 time coming to rest on its wheels. The driver was transported by Leflore County EMS to Sparks Hospital in Ft Smith, AR in stable condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. 

The passenger, a female Juvenile (Name Withheld), from Spiro, was ejected from the vehicle which partially rolled on top of her.  She was extricated by Spiro Fire Department; no tools were needed.  She was transported by Leflore County EMS to Sparks Hospital in Ft Smith, AR in stable condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. 

  

Condition of Driver – Under the Influence of Illegal Drugs

Cause of Collision – DUI Drugs

Seat belts – Equipped and in use for the driver

Airbags – Equipped, no deployed

Weather – Clear and Dry

Roadway – 2 lanes, undivided, asphalt

Investigated by the Leflore county detachment of Troop D.  Assisted by Spiro Police Department, Spiro Fire Department and Leflore County EMS.
