There are several events/meetings coming up and one change to our monthly meeting date.we want to make you aware of.
1. The LeFlore and Sequoyah County Republicans are hosting State School Superintendent Ryan Walters, who will be speaking in Poteau this coming Thursday evening, February 1, at 6 pm. The event will be held at the Reynolds Center in Poteau. The public is invited to attend.
2. The LeFlore County GOP Convention will be held on Saturday, February 17, at 10 am at the Kiamichi Technology Center (next to Carl Albert State College). Everyone is invited to attend, but only registered Republicans in LeFlore County will be eligible to vote on any matters. Also, if you want to attend the state convention, which will be held later this year, per the bylaws you must attend the county convention on February 17. Please bring your voter I.D. card or we can check the county voter rolls with your government-issued I.D.
3. There will be no regular monthly meeting on February 8. The County Convention will take its place instead.
4. On this coming Tuesday, January 30, at 6:00 pm, the Poteau Chamber is hosting a public forum regarding the county sales tax funding for the Detention Center and also the Poteau School Board candidates running for seat No. 4 will be present and will be asked a series of questions designed to inform the voters. This meeting will be held at the Performing Arts Center located at Poteau High School. The election is February 13, with early voting beginning onThursday, February 8.
