Downtown Poteau will be the site of the March for Justice–A Black Lives Matters Rally. The event will be Saturday, June 20, beginning at 9:30 AM at the Courthouse and conclude at 11:55 AM. The program below shows the plan for the rally.
There will be a tribute to Dr. John Montgomery including an address by his daughter, Dr. Mildred Randolph. The LeFlore County Sheriff’s department, Poteau Police Department and LeFlore County EMS will be on site as well.

10:00 am – Welcome, Invocation by Minister Cherry, and Remarks by Sheriff Edwards
10:15 am March down Dewey
10:40 am Return to Courthouse
10:50 am – NAACP President, Danyell Lanier, and Dr. Mildred Randolph
11:30 am – Tribute to Eastern Oklahoma’s Own Civil Rights Pioneer Dr. John Montgomery
11:40 am – Remarks – Take a Knee and Closing Prayer – Donald Cherry
