Senator George Burns and Senator Mark Allen presented the LeFlore County Historical Society with a Citation of Congratulations for the Lowrey Building for the 100 Year Anniversary .
The Hotel Lowrey was built in 1922 by WW Lowrey. The building was first used as an Immigration Office and converted into a Hotel in 1932, which remained in operation until 1968. Since that time the building has been used for county offices, like OSU Extension and the Patrol and Parole office. It was used even as dormitories for Carl Albert State College.
The LeFlore County Historical Society repurposed the building into a museum in 2008 as a way to preserve the great history of LeFlore County.
