Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur (third from left) visited Eastern Oklahoma State College on Monday for a tour of the Agriculture Department’s Meat Sciences Lab. She was joined by (left to right) Eastern Regent Larry Spradley, incoming Eastern President Dr. Janet Wansick, Eastern Agriculture Dean Larriann Livingston, Representative Dell Kerbs who serves as the chair of the House Agriculture and Rural Development Committee, and Representative Jim Grego who serves as vice chair of the committee. Also attending, but not pictured, was Senator Larry Boggs.
Several other Eastern Agriculture faculty and alumni, as well as representatives from the Choctaw Nation and Kiamichi Technology Center also participated in the tour. Dean Livingston also provided an update on the growth in Eastern’s Agriculture Division and the group discussed opportunities to help increase meat processing.
