(POTEAU, OKLAHOMA) – www.poteauchamber.com.  In 2015 Donald W. Reynolds was awarded the site for the 3-day rally.  Over 800 motorcycles were busy on the streets, at hotels, restaurants and at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.  The City, County and surrounding communities were buzzing with businesses as the groups left the DWRCC each day to ride over 100 miles stopping at destinations on the way and returning to concerts and events each night for those that were registered.

Poteau being the gate way to the mountains and a city that is continually on the move was chosen for the second time in April of this year for the 2019 Rally in September.

The rally was named for what we are best known for our scenic drives through the mountainous areas. The Rally Committee deemed the 2019 name as “Rumble In The Mountains”  The rally will kick off September 12th for a huge parade along Broadway, a concert “ Cowboys of The Asphalt”  rally on Dewey that will feature Billy Ray Hoffman and Friends, Chuck Wagon Cooking and BBQ Vendors.  Block 1 & 2 on Dewey will be blocked off for motorcycle parking and a street dance.

This event will be open to the entire public and we encourage everyone to come and see all the motorcycles, enjoy great food, drinks and music.

Day 2 and 3 will be at the Donald W. Reynolds Center and his close only to those that have registered for the event.

Like any event that takes place in the city there are organizers that work hard to recruit new events to the area. “I have stayed in contact with the organizers by phone, email and Facebook since the 2015 rally.

“Each year I would send a message that Poteau was ready for another rally if chosen.  “This year when I received the call, I was prepared to submit a Request for Proposal for 2020 as the conversation continued, I soon realized it was this year and of course I don’t turn a good deal for Poteau down. As any event we begin to organize and work with our partners, City of Poteau, Poteau Mainstreet, The Purple Plume and JOB Construction, LeFlore County Development Coalition and The Poteau Chamber to make this event one of the best for those in the Motorcycle chapters of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Missouri and more.  We are very excited to make this happen again and hope to be the site host again in 2021.” States Karen Wages, CEO
