Poteau Schools’ Seventh and Eighth grade Center has released the November 2024 Students of the Month. Seventh grade SOM are Braylie Kirkland and Sebastian Watkins. Eighth grade SOM are Dayana Oviedo and Hammond Yandell.
Braylie’s parents are Chelsie Weaver and Brandon Kirkland. Her electives are Art, Keyboarding, and track. Braylie likes school because “it motivates me to become a pediatric nurse”. She is a member of Gifted & Talented, Student Council, and FCCLA.
Sebastian’s parents are Addison Watkins and Sheldon Watkins. His electives are Wrestling, Art, and Tech Ed. Sebastian likes school because “I get to hang out with my friends”.
Dayana’s parents are Andres Oviedo and Maribel Oviedo. Her electives are FACS, Yearbook, and Library. Dayana likes school because “I learn something new everyday and I get to see my friends”. She is a member of Gifted & Talented, NJHS, Library Staff, and FCCLA.
Hammond’s parents are Chad and Kendra Yandell. His electives are Tech Ed, Library Worker, Basketball, Cross Country, and track. Hammond likes school because “I can learn things that will set me up for success in life”. He is a member of Gifted & Talented, Student Council, NJHS, and Library Staff.
