The Poteau Seventh & Eighth Grade Center has selected the Students of the Month for April. The seventh graders chosen are Ava Hembree and John Bond. The eighth graders chosen are Briceyda Salvador and Daxton Roberts.

Ava is the daughter of Autumn and Jake Hembree. Her electives are Track, Choir, and Library. Ava likes school because “I get to see my friends and I can do sports and other electives.” She is a member of Gifted & Talented, Academic Team, Library Staff, and Cheerleading.

John is the son of Katherine Phillips, John Bond, and Andrew Phillips. His electives are Athletics, Keyboarding, Robotics, and FACS. John likes school because “I like sports.” He is a member of Gifted & Talented.

Briceyda is the daughter of Mario Salvador and Anselma Reyes. Her electives are FACS, Choir, Library/Office Aide. Briceyda likes school because “I am able to learn and achieve and am given various opportunities while spending time with friends.” She is a member of Gifter & Talented, NJHS, Library Staff, and FCCLA.

Daxton Roberts is the son of Jennifer and Jeff Roberts. His electives are Library, Yearbook, and FACS. Daxton likes school because “I love learning, and I have found an amazing community through school.” He is a member of Student Council, Library Staff, and FCCLA.
