The Poteau 7th & 8th Grade Center (SEC) has released the February Students of the Month (SOM). SOM are nominated by the teachers and then voted on each month.
The February 7th grade SOM are Dayana Oviedo and David Martinez. The 8th grade SOM are Sydney Nowack and Daxton Neal.
Dayana’s parents are Sealtiel Jimenez and Andres Oviedo. Her electives are STEM and Band. Dayana likes school because “I get to learn new things and I can see my friends”. She is a member of NJHS.
David’s parents are Micaela Sanjuan and Vicente Martinez. His electives are Tech Ed and STEM. David likes school because “it is a fun learning environment and a place to hang out with friends too”.
Sydney’s parents are Jared Nowack and Danielle Nowack. Her electives are STEM, Advanced Art, and Library. Sydney likes school because “it gives me time to see people I enjoy talking to. Being at school also gives me the opportunity to learn new things”. Sydney is a member of Art Club, NJHS, and Library Staff.
Daxton’s parent is Angie Neal. His electives are Athletics, Tech Ed, and weightlifting. Daxton likes school because “I can do things I love like play sports and do math”.
