Poteau Schools’ Seventh & Eighth Grade Center has announced the May Students of the Month. The 7th grade SOM are Kaelyn Owens and Aydynce McDonald and the 8th grade SOM are Solei Hackler and Cael Terry.

Kaelyn’s parents are Jammie Owens and Elvis Owens. Her electives are Newspaper, Keyboarding, and STEM. Kaelyn likes school because “it gives me something to look forward to and it helps me move to the next step in life”. She is a member of Gifted & Talented and NJHS.

Aydynce’s parents are Nicole Welton and Wesley McDonald. His electives are Track, Keyboarding, Cross Country, and STEM. Aydynce likes school because “I can visit with friends, get to learn new things, and do fun things”.

Solei’s parents are Todd and Jami Hackler. Her electives are Athletics, FACS, and Media. Solei likes school because “I get to see friends and I really like all my classes”. She is a member of Gifted & Talented and NJHS.

Cael’s parents are Kristen and Cody Terry. His electives are STEM, Weightlifting, and Athletics. Cael likes school because “It’s fun to learn new things and get smarter every day”. He is a member of NJHS.
