Harp’s Store Manager, David Evans said “We are glad to have been able to help with this project from the beginning. Our employees have worked out a system to make sure the teachers can quickly and easily find what they need.”
This year, through generous donations, 225 students from 94 families were given groceries. Cindy Anson, Poteau Public Schools District Child Nutrition Coordinator, said the community helps provide these groceries through an annual fund-raiser. “Without the support of our community, we would not be able to do this for these students and families. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.”
Scott Kempenich, Superintendents of Poteau Schools, “Poteau is blessed to have such caring teachers. Their service to our students and families is just one of the many things that makes Poteau Public Schools a great place to be. We are grateful for the opportunity they have to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. They are modeling the love of Jesus in what they do in their classrooms and in the community. They are beacons of hope and light that others can look to for guidance and encouragement.”
The stories of need can be shared by any teacher you ask! If you want to make a donation toward next year’s project, contact Cindy Anson.
