Monroe First Baptist Church held a Bible study and prayer service for area school faculty and staff Wednesday evening. Pastor Jeremy Minor led those in attendance through PRAY: Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield using scripture from Nehemiah Chapter 1.
Following the Bible study, Minor invited all faculty and staff present to come to the front of the sanctuary for a time of individual prayer for each person. Several members of the church prayed for each school employee as they will soon begin a new school year.
Also included in the prayer time was an opportunity for all present to utilize the PRAY idea to pray for themselves. In addition, there was a time of prayer for the students who will soon be starting a new school year.
In attendance were faculty and staff from Monroe Elementary School, Howe Public Schools, Pocola High School and Wister Public Schools, as well as two school board members from the Monroe Elementary School district.
