OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Jim Grego, R-Wilburton, recognized the Red Oak Lady Eagles in the Oklahoma House of Representatives on Wednesday. The team won the 2026 Oklahoma Girls Class B-I State Basketball Championship.

The team is led by Head Coach Josh Fields and Assistant Coach Brad Davis under the direction of Athletic Director Casey Butcher. The school principal is Chris Hempfling, the district superintendent is Bryan Deatherage.

Team members are Avery Allen, Jaylee Branscum, Dawson Clayborn, Farrah Hempfling, Kaytee Hood, Quincee Kauk, Jayla King, Eelyn Martin, Presley McClary, Riley Parks, Allie Tovar and Blayklee Ward.

“This team demonstrated a lot of hard work and determination to get to this championship,” Grego said. “I’m proud of their effort and the skill they’ve developed. It was great to be able to recognize them in the House for this outstanding achievement.”

The team completed their season with a 28-3 record. Grego presented a team citation and recognized players with individual citations that noted their teamwork, consistent discipline and winning through clutch performance, defensive intensity and poise in high-pressure situations.

“The championship victory is the result of countless hours of practice and the collaborative effort of athletes and coaches who embody the highest standards and character,” the citations read.

 

Jim Grego serves District 17 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Latimer County and part and Pittsburg County.
