According to the OHP report a fatality collision occurred on January 20, 2024 at approximately 8:36 PM on Midway Road approximately 3 miles south-east of Poteau.
A 1995 Jeep Wrangler driven by Carl Grayson of Poteau was northbound on Midway Road and a 2014 Ford F150 driven by David Hudgens from Hartford was southbound. The vehicles made contact striking each, causing Vehicle-1the Jeep to run off the roadway and overturn.
Grayson was pinned in the accident and suffered mulitple injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by LeFlore County EMS.
The cause of collision is under investagtion. Both vehicles were equipped with seatbelts, but not in use by Mr. Grayson. The airbags were not deployed in either vehicle.
The accident was Investigated by OHP and assisted Monroe Fire Department, Leflore County EMS, and Leflore County Sheriff’s Office.
