After over six months of anticipation, the Poteau Police Department, in collaboration with Special Olympics Oklahoma and Oklahoma LETR, is proud to announce a special event to reveal Sergeant Gary Hecht’s new police car, which will feature pictures of our local Special Olympics athletes who have touched his heart. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, at noon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Poteau Oklahoma.

For over 10 years, Sergeant Hecht has been a dedicated supporter of both Poteau’s local Special Olympic athletes and Special Olympics Oklahoma. Known for his unwavering commitment, he has consistently raised the most funds for the annual Polar Plunge and, along with his family, has donated countless hours to ensure the success and well-being of the athletes. His efforts have made a lasting impact on the lives of these remarkable individuals.

The public is invited to join us for this heartfelt occasion, in collaboration with Special Olympics Oklahoma, Oklahoma LETR and the Poteau Police Department, and share in honoring these outstanding athletes and celebrating Sergeant Hecht’s continued dedication.
