Shady Public Schools held their annual archery tournament Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the Donald W. Reynolds Event Center in Poteau. Almost 400 student archers from twelve schools registered for the event. The participating schools were Arkoma, Cameron, Charleston (Arkansas), Eagletown, Howe, Locust Grove, Lukfata, Panama, Rattan, Red Oak, Salina, and Shady Point.

Shady Point superintendent Bruce Gillham said, “The Reynolds Center is our new archery facility. We had hosted the tournament once before, but knew we needed more parking. The Reynolds Center definitely has plenty of parking.”

The tournament also included a 3D shoot and an adult competition which allowed parents and coaches to be “coached” by their kids. The 3D shoot took place in the amphitheater with pop-up targets.

The top three schools for each of the three divisions received trophies and the top boy and girl shooters in each division received medals. Pictured below are the top teams of each division. See our Facebook page for additional photos including top individuals.

Elementary Division top team was Locust Grove Upper Elementary with a score of 2874 which included 58 Tens.

Shady Point Archery Coach Hank Austin stated, “There is no way we could have pulled this off without the help of the people who helped including Shady Point parents and the staff of the Reynolds Center. Thank you to all our sponsors and to the students who participated in this year's tournament."
