We are proud to recognize and celebrate the achievements of our 2024-2025 eighth grade honor graduates. This year’s competition was incredibly close, with less than 0.15 points separating the top three students.

In addition, we commend the following honor graduates for maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA throughout their time at Shady Point:

Blaze Burton, Bryclee Butler, Bryer Cassell, Sarah Chamberlain, Colton Hopkins, Michelle Nixon, Austin Rogers, Roman Rutledge, Jaxson Hodge, and Antonio Irwin.

 

Distinguished Graduates Bios

 

Roman Rutledge is the son of Lori and Steve Rutledge. He has attended Shady Point schools for seven years. Basketball is his top activity, and Coach is his favorite teacher. Roman participates in Esports, basketball, track, and archery. His favorite memory is when Austin broke a toilet during the nationals trip. Outside of school, he enjoys playing basketball and video games. Roman says he will miss his friends the most. Roman plans to attend Cameron High school and hopes to play in the NBA and work in HVAC. A fun fact about him is he is very good at Tetris. Roman would also like to give thanks to his mom and dad for all they’ve done for him.

 

Sarah Chamberlain is the daughter of Amanda and Travis Chamberlain. She has attended Shady Point schools for five years. Her favorite subject is history, and she appreciates both Mr. Burris and Coach as teachers. Sarah participates in archery, basketball, and track. Her best memories include the 8th grade field trip and a rubber band fight on the bus during the 7th grade. Outside of school, Sarah enjoys shooting her bow, hanging out with friends, and playing basketball. Sarah says she will miss her favorite teachers and the friends she might not see again. She plans to attend either Spiro or Panama high school and dreams of becoming a meteorologist. A fun fact about her is that she has memorized 100 digits of pi and knows all the US States and capitals alphabetically. Sarah would like to thank her parents, Mr. Burris, and coach Glenn for being “awesome sauce”

 

Austin Rodgers is the son of Victoria Rodgers. This is his third year to attend Shady Point Schools. He participates in track, archery, and basketball. His favorite subject is science, and his favorite teachers are Mr. Glenn and Mr. Wann. His favorite middle school memory is the nationals trip in the 7th grade. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with friends, and he says he will misses them the most. Austin plans to attend Panama high school and hopes to become a neurosurgeon. A fun fact about him is that he enjoys playing video games.
