The Shady Point Warriors Archery team earned runner-up in the middle school division at the 1st Annual Roland Archery Tournament on Saturday, January 30th. The team scored 3,248 to bring home second. The Warriors’ Hayden Shadwick brought home gold, placing 1st male in the middle school division. Sadie Deiter placed 2nd female, Jake Cauthen placed 3rd male, and Brayli Beason placed 4th female. All four of these archers are currently ranked in the top 100 out of 8,126 middle school (grades 6-8) archers who competed in the nation this past week.
As of Monday, the team is ranked 9th out of 279 middle school teams in the nation that competed last week. Three of the top ten middle school teams are from Oklahoma, including Locust Grove (1st) and Altus (6th). All three of these teams will meet this Saturday in McLoud and again at the OKNASP state tournament in Oklahoma City on February 23rd and 24th, all competing for invitations to nationals in Louisville, Kentucky.
