Poteau, Oklahoma – Poteau High School Special Olympics’ Life Skills Class received a Plaque on January 3, 2022, for winning the People Choice Christmas Tree in the LeFlore County Historical Society’s Fantasy Forest Tree Decorating Contest.
Eleven Trees were entered in the contest and people could come to the LeFlore County Museum, located inside the Historic Hotel Lowrey and vote for $1.00 for their favorite.
Andrew Jenson sponsored their tree for the contest. The Tree “NO PLACE LIKE GNOME” had handmade ornaments from Magnolia pods.

Others tree entries were Poteau High School – Alternative Education Class, Central National Bank, Pam Mullins, Jean Whigham, LCHS Staff, Heart of Hospice, Love Fostering Hope, The Poteau Chamber of Commerce and the Poteau Women’s League and Bill Bledsoe.
