According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Spiro man was injured in a one vehicle roll-over accident that occurred on October 14, 2018 at approximately 1:42am on United States Highway, just south of Ridge Road in Poteau.
According to the report, a 1990 GMC pickup, driven by Julio Perez 37, of Spiro was southbound on US.59 when he departed the road the to the right traveled approximately 150 feet then over corrected and crossed US.59 departing the road to the left. He then traveled approximately 200 feet and the vehicle rolled one half time ejecting Perez approximately 50 feet.
Perez was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith Arkansas then transported by Pafford EMS by fixed wing to UAMS in Little Rock Arkansas. He was listed in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
According to the report, the condition of driver was Odor of Alcohol and DUI was the cause of the collision.
