Spiro lawyer Nick Grant is helping organize a grant for the Spiro Park near the Spiro Lake. Within the past 2 years, the park received an update of a variety of trails meandering through the woods which provides additional miles of walking trails.
The Town of Spiro has also reviewed and approved the 60% plan set for the updates coming to the park. The images below provide both a preview of the Splash Pad as well as an overview of the total project scope. To recap, the following improvements are coming to the park:
1. Interactive Splash Pad;
2. Two Lighted and Fenced Pickleball Courts;
3. Renovation of Park Building and Creation of ADA Accessible Public Restrooms;
4. Replacement of Existing Slab at the Pavilion;
5. Installation of Additional Parking and Sidewalks for Ease of Access to Park Features.
Overall, the above represents a good approximation of what is coming to the park later this year. If everything stays on track the city should go out to bids and begin construction later this fall.
These additions represent tangible and entertaining recreational options for families and children in Spiro and the surrounding area.
