At 5:19 Saturday morning, Poteau Police were dispatched to an apartment on Windham in the city limits of Poteau on a call of a stabbing.

Officers arrived on scene and found Bryan Futch (45 of Poteau) in his apartment with stab wounds to the back and blunt force trauma to the head. Futch was transported by life flight to Saint Francis in Tulsa.

Poteau Police Investigators responded to the scene and learned that an acquaintance of Futch, Patrick Dillard (41 of Poteau) was the suspect and had fled the scene after the assault.

Dillard was located by Poteau Police at approximately 10:00 that morning and taken into custody. Dillard was booked into the LeFlore County Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault & battery and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

The investigation is ongoing and a current assessment of Futch’s condition is unavailable at this time.
