Public Notice:
All personal property and business personal property assessments are due in the Assessor’s Office by March 13, 2020.
Farmer’s personal property includes farm equipment, ie: tractors, brush hogs, balers, mowing machines, trailers and other farm equipment.
Business, including home businesses, personal property includes furniture and fixtures, equipment and inventory assets used in the daily operation of a business.
New businesses must render a 901 Oklahoma Tax Commission form.
All mobile homes must be assessed by Friday, March 13 as well.
Homesteads provide a homeowner with a $1000 reduction in assessed value (NOT TAXES). Double homesteads are available to households with less than $20,000 income. A “Senior Freeze” on assessed values is available to homeowners who are 65 or older and gross household income is less than $49,200 – proof of 2019 income must be provided by a letter from Social Security Administration or 2019 IRS tax filings meets this requirement.
Starting Monday March 16, 2020 a penalty of 10% (percent) is added to the property assessment until April 15, 2020. On April 16, 2020 personal and business personal property is assessed a penalty of 20% (percent) and will be added to the taxpayers bill due by December 31, 2020.
If changes need to be made to the information previously sent to the taxpayer in the January personal rendition (statement) please make needed changes to the list. If no changes are needed a taxpayer must mail or return in person the original listing with date and signature to the office located in the courthouse.
