According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a drowning incident occurred on April 11, 2022 at approximately 11am on Lake Eufaula approximately 4.5 miles west of Checotah, OK in McIntosh county.
According to the OHP report, a three-year-old male from Checotah, OK. Pronounced deceased at scene.
According to the report, the boy went missing from a residence in Emerald Bay area at Lake Eufaula.
Per video juvenile was last seen running towards a dock at the lake.
He attempted to go around a locked dock gate, fell into the water and never resurfaced.
His body was recovered in 7 feet of water, 42 feet south of the shore on April 11, 2022 at 6:42pm.
He was located by radar and recovered by the OHP Dive Team.
The incident was investigated by OHP, OHP Dive Team, OHP ERT, McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office, Checotah Police Department, Wagoner County Search & Rescue and Creek Nation Light horse Police.
