According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, several were injured in a school bus accident that occurred on August 8, 2019 at 3:44pm on 20th Street at United State Highway 64, approximately .5 miles west of Keefton, OK in Muskogee County.
According to the report, a 2008 Mazda SUV driven by Billy Williams 46, of Warner, was traveling southbound on US64 and a 2019 International School bus of Warner driven by Keith Whittle, 36, of Checotah, was stopped at the stop sign heading eastbound on 20th Street.
For unknown reason the Mazda SUV, departed the road to the right and hit the school bus on the driver side. Williams was pinned in his vehicle and was freed by Keefton Fire Department.
Williams was transported by Muskogee EMS to St. John Hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in stable condition with head, arm, trunk internal, trunk external, and leg injuries.
The bus driver was not injured.
There were 24 students on the bus. Several were injured but all were treated and released.
The accident was investigated By OHP, Muskogee County Sheriff’s Department and Muskogee County EMS.
