Cookson man life-flighted after accident in Cherokee County Featured

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a one vehicle accident occurred on January 17, 2018 at approximately 6:24pm on State Highway 82, 15.7 miles South of Tahlequah, in Cherokee County.

 

According to the report, a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Randy Butler Jr., 44, of Cookson, attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve, departed the roadway to the right, struck a road sign, and rolled over an unknown number of times.

 

Butler was ejected approximately 30 feet from the vehicle.

 

He was transported by Tulsa Life Flight to St Francis Hospital and was admitted in serious but stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

 

The accident was investigated by OHP, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department,Cookson Fire and Rescue, and Cherokee Nation EMS.
