Drowning at Chickasha Lake in Caddo County Featured

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a drowning occurred on May 27, 2019 at approximately 5:22pm on Lake Chickasha near Cottonwood Loop, approximately 6 miles northwest of Verden, OK in Caddo County.


According to the report, Zachary A. Tryon 34 of Chickasha, was on the boat dock along with two other males, they noticed a young female struggling in the water nearby.

The three men went into the water to assist the female. The two other male subjects returned the female safely to shore. Tyron went under water and did not resurface.

Tyron’s body was recovered at approximately 8:18 using a drag bar in 8 ½ feet of water approximately 10 feet west of the boat dock.

He was transported by Alpha Omega to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.


The drowning was investigated by OHP Marine Enforcement Division, assisted by Chickasha Police Department, Chickasha Fire Department and Caddo County Sheriff’s Office.
