According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Durant man was injured in a motorcycle accident that occurred on July 31, 2021 at 6:53pm pm on Old US Highway 70, approximately 5 miles East of Durant, in Bryan County.
According to the report a, 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by James D. Southerland 60, of Durant1 was traveling westbound on Old US Highway 70, hit a rough spot on the roadway, lost control, laid over in roadway and came to rest in the ditch.
Southerland was transported by AirEvac to Medical City in Plano Texas for trunk internal and leg injuries.
The accident was investigated by OHP, Philadelphia Volunteer Fire Department and Bryan County EMS.
