The Oklahoma Highway Patrol report that a fatality collision occurred on July 20, 2017 at approximately 6:20 am on State Highway 3, six miles north and 1 mile west of Wright City, in McCurtain County.

 

According to the report, a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Kaytlynn M. Powers 18, of Eagletown was westbound on SH3, lost control of the vehicle then ran off the roadway to the right, overcorrected, ran off the roadway to the right again and overturning.

 

Powers was transported by AirEvac to St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas where she was treated and released with head and trunk internal injuries.

Her passenger, Paula P. Atkin, 61, of Eagletown died at the scene with head and trunk internal injuries.


She was transported to Brumley Funeral Home in Broken Bow.

 

The accident was investigated OHP, McCurtain County EMS and the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office.
