According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a fatality collision occurred on April 2, 2021 at approximately 2:34 pm, on Indian Rd and County Road 510, approximately 10 miles South of Tahlequah in Cherokee County.
According to the report, a 2006 Ford Focus driven by Betty Wells 78, of Gore was traveling southbound on y Road Indian Road at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve to the left and departed the roadway right overturning a undetermined amount of times.
Wells was transported by Cherokee Nation EMS to Hastings hospital in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
She was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at Hastings Hospital in Tahlequah, OK.
The accident was investigated by OHP and assisted by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee Nation EMS and Keys fire department.
