According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a fatality incident occurred on September 4, 2021 at approximately 3:05pm on Sand Road, approximately one mile south and two miles east of Harris, OK, in McCurtain County.
According to the OHP report, a 1998 Ford F-150 driven by Jimmy Batey 61, of Haworth appeared to have had a medical episode occur while traveling on Sand Rd, when the vehicle exited the roadway to the right and came to rest in tall grass.
Batey was pronounced dead at the scene by McCurtain County EMS.
The accident was investigated by OHP and McCurtain County Sheriff’s Department.
