According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a fatality vehicle versus pedestrian collision occurred on November 20, 2018 at approximately 7:04 pm on United State Highway 69 service road, just south of Frink Rd and approximately ¼ mile south of McAlester, OK in Pittsburg County.
According to the report, Curtis Wayne Johnson, 34, from Lancaster, TX was walking southbound on the service road near the edge of the payment when he was struck by a white van that was also traveling southbound.
The left the scene of the accident.
Johnson was transported by Pafford EMS to McAlester Regional Health Center where he expired from injuries sustained after being struck by the vehicle.
The accident is under investigation.
